Open Data for Better Curb Access: Implementation Learnings from Three SMART Cities

Listen as panelists share their experiences embracing digital tools, data specifications, stakeholder engagement, and emerging technology to build organizational capacity for curb space management in their communities: data-driven, policy-based curb management that promotes positive community outcomes. Emphasis will be given to what the three cities have learned through their USDOT SMART grant work building internal data systems, engaging stakeholders, leveraging new curb technologies, and using data to communicate curb information with private and public curb.

Charging Forward: Research-backed Strategies to Transform EV Charging
Presenters: Joshua Kavanagh, CAPP, and Jeffrey Myers, MPP, University of California, San Diego
UC San Diego has the largest campus EV charging deployment in North America, with nearly 600 level two chargers and 20 DC fast chargers. The university is leveraging this living lab by forging a unique partnership between academics, operational leaders, and industry, which has over 1,500 people sharing charging data across multiple platforms and more than 1,000 active participants in behavioral research.

- Recognize technology-enabled, infrastructure-side strategies for reducing capital costs, avoiding time of use and demand charges, and decreasing carbon emissions.
- Reuse replicable, research-driven strategies for optimizing charging behavior to get the best business and environmental outcomes.

Confident Leadership in Action: Keys to Building a Team of Leaders Who Know How to Follow
