New York City DOT believes that achieving curb management goals requires both embracing new technologies while actively re-purposing the curb, prioritizing efficient and sustainable uses. Below are a selection of current projects and programs that focus on enhancing mobility and increasing accessibility, moving the curb beyond its default use in American cities. Following the lead of other world cities, as well as innovating on its own, we believe these projects and our strategic vision is driving us toward a 21st Century Curb Management policy in which we are revolutionizing how me manage the curb for all users.
