#IPMI2020 GOES VIRTUAL

Pivoting our Conference & Expo to a Virtual Event

Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our members, partners, and employees. During the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the evolving situation with the COVID-19 outbreak to ensure we are taking every precaution to look after our community. After careful consideration, we’ve decided there will be no physical event for the 2020 IPMI Conference & Expo. Instead, we will reimagine the 2020 IPMI Conference & Expo as a virtual experience.

Tentatively scheduled for June 1 – 2, 2020, the IPMI Virtual Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo will deliver the education that is the hallmark of our association to you, wherever you are. In the coming weeks, we will release the comprehensive education program, online networking, and virtual Expo.

We are working to get the information you need as quickly as possible. Our Conference team is in the process of finalizing plans and will launch an FAQ page for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors, addressing registration for the virtual event and all refund options. Our team will be in touch with you on or before April 10, 2020.

Few industries pull together to support their community like ours, and we thank you for your confidence in the weeks and months ahead. In the interim, IPMI will host free online industry-specific Shoptalks addressing the COVID-19 crisis and the industry response beginning this Tuesday, March 24 and continuing March 31, with additional resources to come. These will be offered live and recorded to share with those who can’t attend; click here to pre-register.

We look forward to supporting you in this critical time and unveiling the IPMI Virtual Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo. Your support in continuing the important work of advancing the parking, transportation, and mobility industry is greatly appreciated. It is an honor and a privilege for IPMI to serve our members and the entire community.

We are in unprecedented times. With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we have been in constant communication with our team and IPMI leadership regarding plans for the 2020 IPMI Conference & Expo, in San Antonio, TX.  As we continue to monitor information from the CDC and WHO as well as Federal, State and local government ordinances, we are aware that this pandemic is impacting your own operations and travel policies as well.

IPMI’s first priority is to the health and safety of our members, speakers, exhibitors, guests, and staff. Given the impact and uncertainty of COVID-19 on how we work, socialize and travel, we will be issuing regular updates here on this page in the coming days.

Stay well,
The IPMI Conference team

IPMI Conference & Expo Show Status:
Proceeding as planned, May 31- June 3, 2020 at the Henry B. González Convention Center.

IPMI’s top priority is the health and safety of all conference participants.

While the 2020 IPMI Conference & Expo is still just under three months away, we realize the nation has been keeping an eye on the global outbreak of the Coronavirus. We want to assure you that we are doing the same, proactively monitoring any developments regarding the virus. This includes regular communication and updates from county and city officials in San Antonio, as well as federal notifications and updates including the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). Rest assured that IPMI remains diligent in monitoring this as it evolves.

At this time, all reports have indicated that the risk to the general public remains very low and with that in mind, there are currently no plans for IPMI to cancel or postpone the IPMI Conference & Expo in San, Antonio, Texas.

As of March 1, 2020, registration numbers are tracking ahead of any previous year and San Antonio
promises to be another record-breaking year.

Host Hotels are respectively filling up with the Marriott Riverwalk at 94% sold and the Grand Hyatt at 55% sold.

Additionally, we want you to know, the City of San Antonio is currently following the additional practices in response to the Coronavirus inside the convention center:

  • Ensuring all free-standing hand sanitizer units are operational and full
  • Disinfecting high contact areas such as railings, door knobs and restrooms at a minimum of twice per day and as needed in between
  • Participating in a weekly call (or more often if necessary) with the Health Department and receiving any updates
